River's Edge Trail, Great Falls

River's Edge Trail is the result of a cooperative partnership effort by the City of Great Falls, Cascade County, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, Montana Department of Transportation, electric utility PPL Montana, a volunteer trail advocacy group Recreational Trails, Inc. and a supportive community.

The 30 mile trail wanders through the City of Great Falls area, connecting parks and other points of interest along the Missouri River including Black Eagle Falls, Rainbow Falls, Crooked Falls and "The Great Falls of the Missouri" just below Ryan Dam.

13 miles of the trail are paved and wheelchair accessible. 17 miles of the trail along the reservoirs is gravel or single and double track. North and south shore trails are served by 11 trailhead parking areas. River's Edge Trail is free and open to non-motorized public recreation during daylight hours 365 days of the year.
