The Homestead Ranch is a beautiful 5,000-acre working ranch nestled in the foothills of the Little Belt Mountains. The Judith River runs through it, surrounded by cottonwood trees. The private acreage adjoins thousands of acres in the Lewis and Clark National Forest and the Judith River Elk Refuge. The ranch offers an unprecedented opportunity for hunting, fishing, horseback riding and overnight trips into the mountains as well as rest and relaxation. Fun for all ages.

The ranch has been family operated since 1960 and serves only small groups. The main lodge at the home ranch is a restored 1880 two story log home that lends itself to a comfortable and homey atmosphere with gracious hospitality. Other restored cabins are also available.

There is a colorful history of the western artist Charlie Russell in this area. The ranch also borders one of the first gold mines which later became renowned for the famous Yogo sapphires.

Wildlife is abundant. White tail deer graze in the hay meadows in the evenings and mule deer are plentiful. The elk is said to be one of the healthiest in the state of Montana. The primary hunting, fishing and overnight mountain trips camp in the mountains is operated in a large log two-story homestead house, located on private land in the middle of the Lewis and Clark National forest, where bacon and pancakes are cooked on a large wood cook stove for breakfast. The area is scenic, peaceful and remote.
