Bon TonCarson's Saloon, however, was the firs occupant of the building built in 1893. And there's a story behind this one! Charles Williams went into the saloon and started talking to Carson and in the midst of the conversation Carson said something like, 'I'd take 10 cents if I could get rid of this place! Business is horrible!' Well, Charles must have had 10 cents in his pocket because he came out the owner of Carson's Saloon! Being a chocolate maker from Phillipsburg, he changed the business into the present day soda fountain and confectionary. And for many years, through the roaring 20s, the depression, several world wars, and the good ol' days of the 50s the Bon Ton thrived. When visiting Lewistown, you don't want to miss the newly remodeled Bon Ton, with its 1950s decorations and music! It takes you down memory lane and has a large variety of sandwiches (hot and cold), hamburgers, soup and salads, desserts (ice cream sodas, root beer floats and much more) and Wilcoxson's Ice Cream! See you soon! Activities
