Montana Hitch-n-Rail Ranch

The Montana Hitch-n-Rail Ranch is a beautiful 10,000 acre AQHA horse and cattle ranch that runs five miles along the wide Missouri. We have landmarks that Lewis and Clark mentioned in their journals. We also have a view of a buffalo crossing that Charlie Russell painted. The original town site of Coal Banks Landing is on our property. Come join the folks at the Montana Hitch-n-Rail Ranch and ride the Lewis & Clark Trail with our 15 gentle horses. We are now offering cowboy campouts at our summer camp, 4 1/2 miles from the ranch.

Directions

The Montana Hitch-n-Rail Ranch is located 75 miles, NE of Great Falls off US 87 between Loma and Big Sandy at milepost 71. Turn right on Virgelle Ferry Road North, and travel 5 miles to bottom of hill into ranch on the river. We are just downstream from Coal Banks Landing and Virgelle Mercantile B&B.
